Why Do Pets Need Yearly Checkups?

In addition to growing up fast, dogs and cats don’t often understand the basic hazards in their day-to-day environment. Parasites, bacteria, and viruses can be found nearly anywhere (even for indoor-only pets), and it doesn’t take much for a curious pet to get into trouble.

That's why we're here to provide quick aid and proper care to your pet, which often involves:

  • A physical exam from one of our veterinarians to look for unusual changes in your pet
  • Testing your pet's blood and fecal matter to screen for parasites, illness, and other issues
  • Vaccinating your pet regularly to increase their disease immunity
  • Prescribing flea, tick, and heartworm preventatives for your pet
  • Evaluating your pet's diet, behavior, and activity levels, and offering recommendations for improvement

Depending on their stage in life and overall health, your pet will have a set of needs specific to their age group. As they get older they might need more frequent exams, yearly X-rays, possible vaccine boosters, or weekly laser therapy treatments. For our senior pets, twice yearly wellness exams are critical for early disease detection.

Veterinary Care at Home
