Dr. Kitrina Journell was one of the founders of Animal Hospital of Lewisville in 2010 and has loved being a part of the Lewisville community! She met her husband, Wayne, while attending JMU and they both then went to graduate school together in Illinois. Dr. Journell continued her path to becoming a veterinarian at the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana College of Veterinary Medicine. She loves working with dogs and cats, and enjoys seeing the occasional exotic pet as well. Her special interests are in internal medicine and cardiology. Dr. Journell and her husband enjoy spending as much time as possible with their four children. Their daughter, Hadleigh, is a smart, sweet little girl with lots of energy. They have a sweet mutt named Parker, and two sassy kitty cats, Abe and Madison. The Journell family enjoys traveling, playing and watching sports, and spending time at the beach whenever they can!

Ben joined our team in 2019. He has lived in Winston-Salem all his life. He aspires to be a veterinarian because of his passion for animals and to help those who can’t help themselves. This is one of the reasons he loves volunteering at the Humane Society. He is currently working towards graduating high-school with an associate degree in science. Ben also loves his church, playing tennis, and playing with his two cats, Daisy and Lucy.
Allison joined our AHL family in 2019. She moved here from Hawaii and has been in the veterinary field since early 2017. She has a military background and has a true passion for animals. In an attempt to save more pets, Allison has done quite a bit of fostering, and that didn’t go so well...so she now has 5 cats: Jax, Joey, Benny, Sammy, Riley and a dog named Layla. She hopes to one day open her own animal sanctuary. In her free time she loves to spend time with her family, cook and wood crafting.
Neidy joined our staff in 2019. After living many years in Connecticut she decided to explore and take a leap of faith. She currently resides with her husband and cutest pup Nyx. On her days off she enjoys swimming, hikes, movies and going on drives.

In her free time, she likes to try new activities with her daughter and grandpup, Tuck, along with her two dogs, Samy and Dude.
The vets and staff are second to none. They treat all of our animals like their own. In addition, we are always done super quickly! They are punctual but offer the best and most thorough care possible. I never feel like my questions don’t matter! We work primarily with Dr. Journell and she’s the best!

Dr. Journell is seriously the best. She kept our baby bear happy and strong for two years after he was diagnosed with heart failure. She understood what was right for him and what was to much for his body to handle. My husband and I love all the staff as well, always friendly and understanding.

The friendliest staff, cleanest facilities & competent, caring vets. My dog is as excited to come here as he is to go to the dog park, which makes my life much easier than if he was nervous and scared and I had to drag him there.
