Dr. Journell

Dr. Kitrina Journell was one of the founders of Animal Hospital of Lewisville in 2010 and has loved being a part of the Lewisville community! Dr. Journell grew up in Fairfax County, VA, and went to James Madison University for her undergraduate degree in Biology, Pre-Med. She met her husband, Wayne, while attending JMU, and they both then went to graduate school together in Illinois. Dr. Journell continued her path to becoming a veterinarian at the University of Illinois Champaign - Urbana College of Veterinary Medicine.

She loves working with dogs and cats, and enjoys seeing the occasional exotic pet as well. Her special interests are in internal medicine and cardiology. Dr. Journell and her husband enjoy spending as much time as possible with their four children. Their daughter, Hadleigh, is a smart, sweet little girl with lots of energy. They have a sweet mutt named Parker, and two sassy kitty cats, Abe and Madison. The Journell family enjoys traveling, playing and watching sports, and spending time at the beach whenever they can!

Dr. Crozier

Dr. Colleen Crozier is a graduate of North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She attended NC State for her undergraduate degree in both Zoology and Poultry Science. Dr. Crozier has participated in multiple mission trips with Christian Veterinary Mission to the Cherokee and Navajo reservations and the Yup’ik tribes in Alaska. A

long with seeing dogs and cats, Dr. Crozier enjoys working with backyard poultry (chickens, ducks, etc). In her spare time, she loves spending time with her energetic standard poodle (Ollivander), reading, baking, and spending time outdoors.

Dr. Allgood

Dr. Joni Allgood is a Yadkin County native. Dr. Allgood came to Animal Hospital of Lewisville in 2020, after 12 years of working in small animal medicine as well as general practice in the Burlington and Lexington areas. She says it is great to be back home!

Dr. Allgood received dual Bachelors degrees at UNC Greensboro and obtained her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine at North Carolina State University. Dr. Allgood has special interests in imaging and internal medicine. She enjoys working with dogs, cats, and furry exotics, including rabbits, guinea pigs, and ferrets. When not working, she enjoys traveling with her family and anything Disney related!

Dr. McClure

Dr. Kathleen McClure grew up in Tampa, FL, and remained in the area to attend the University of South Florida, where she received her bachelor's degree in Biology and a minor in Spanish & Latino studies (including some study abroad time in Spain!). Dr. McClure then continued her educational journey at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine, where she obtained her DVM degree as well as certification in veterinary business management.

Dr. McClure has special interests in internal medicine and soft tissue surgery, and enjoys working with dogs and cats, as well as exotics! She has two cats, Chester and Piper, and a crested gecko named Barry. In her free time, Dr. McClure enjoys outdoor activities, traveling, reading, and playing the piano.

DonaDixon

Dona - Practice Manager

Dona embarked on her journey in veterinary medicine in the late 80s, starting as a kennel assistant at a local shelter on Long Island. Moving up to an assistant position, she pursued further education in Veterinary Technology at Suffolk Community College. Dona then honed her skills at NY Vet Specialty Practice as a surgical technician, working alongside a top surgeon. With over 40 years of experience in various roles, she has recently transitioned into the role of Practice Manager for the past six years and is currently preparing to become a CVPM.

Aside from her distinguished career, Dona retired after 24 years of service in the Air Force and Air National Guard, during which she developed a passion for travel. An avid equestrian, she finds joy in outdoor activities, such as Ragnar Relays, where she collaborates with teams nationwide. In her leisure time, she cherishes moments with her beloved horse, Keats, whom she has cared for over 28 years, and her two canine companions, JJ and Willow.

Angie - Client Service Supervisor

Angie has been a part of the AHL team since we opened in 2010. She was born in New York but has lived in the south since childhood. She is a proud Italian who loves cooking, spending time with her pets and going to car show events. Angie is also a heavily involved volunteer for a group that assists with the health and well being of feral cats in the community.  Angie and her husband reside with their cats and dogs in Lewisville.

Brittney - Client Service Representative

Brittney grew up in the small town of Pilot Mountain but has called many cities across the country home. She has two fur babies, Dewbie and Luke whom she spoils whenever she gets the chance. Working for a nonprofit pit bull rescue in the past she looks forward to the opportunity to volunteer more. Brittney enjoys photography, loves a good mystery book and classic horror movies.

Michelle - Veterinary Assistant

Michelle transplanted from Maryland and brings more than 15 years experience to our team. She has two dogs of her own and enjoys spending time outside with them, her husband, and two daughters, Mia and Rylee.

On the weekends you can find Michelle racing on the autocross course or swimming with her family.

Mary

Mary - Client Service Representative / Veterinary Assistant

Mary was born and raised in Lewisville. Her heart belongs to her son and daughter, and sharing love and kindness to all those she meets. Helping people and pets makes her smile. Mary loves learning all she can to better educate herself and others. Her family has helped many orphaned animals over the years. Working with animals is the only thing she has ever wanted to do, other than being a mom.

In her spare time, Mary loves hanging out with her kids, listening to music, beach time, collecting seashells. She also loves cleaning and organizing with her sweet lab, Smoochy.

Mary is very grateful to be a part of the Animal Hospital of Lewisville Team.

Katie - Veterinary Assistant

Katie recently moved to the area with her husband and their dogs, Zelda and Frieda. She was raised in Virginia, but is excited to call NC home! One day Katie hopes to open a senior dog sanctuary in honor of her first dog, Sammy, who showed the unconditional love pets can give and that's when she realized she wanted to help animals.

In her free time, Katie loves to spend time with family, play video games, and work on her Cutlass Supreme.

AshtynAndrews

Ashtyn - Veterinary Assistant

Ashtyn is originally from the coast of North Carolina but moved into Iredell and then into Davie while in middle school. She is currently attending Davie County High School with plans to attend Appalachian State University and pursue a Veterinary Medicine degree with hopes of becoming a veterinarian.

She has never been in a home without a furry companion and couldn’t imagine life without them. Her passion for animals started when she was very young, and she would gladly help out with her mother's pet-sitting business. Ashtyn has regularly volunteered with the local humane society, where she helped foster and socialize dogs and cats before getting a job at a veterinary clinic. At AHL, Ashtyn hopes to learn and grow in the veterinary field and create a close bond with clients and patients.

Ashtyn lives with her mother and their three dogs and four cats. In her free time, you can find her with her pets, reading a book, playing video games, or listening to music.

Anna_Lammel

Anna - Veterinary Assistant

Anna was born in Argentina and moved to Florida when she was just a baby. She lived there for eight years before moving to North Carolina with her family in 2009.
Anna is currently studying Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Wake Forest University and is set to graduate in May 2023.
She hopes to become a veterinarian and is currently volunteering as a puppy raiser for the Guide Dog Foundation for the Blind, raising her 3rd pup with hopes that it will become a guide dog. When not studying or raising puppies, Anna loves to spend time with her five dogs and three cats!
SamanthaReynolds

Sam - Veterinary Assistant

Originally from Washington State, Samantha has harbored a deep passion for working with animals throughout her life. Currently, she is actively pursuing her goal of becoming a Registered Veterinary Technician through online courses at San Juan Community College. Samantha holds a special affection for Pit Bulls and any animals that are commonly misunderstood. Alongside her boyfriend, she shares her home with two adorable fur babies.

During her leisure time, Samantha enjoys engaging in video games with friends and taking her dogs to the park for a spirited game of fetch.

Andrea - Veterinary Assistant

Andrea was raised in Mississippi but relocated to North Carolina in 2020. She is a pre-veterinary student at Salem College. From a young age, Andrea has always been around animals. She began rescuing animals at a young age and continues to volunteer at animal shelters and wildlife rescue organizations.

At home, Andrea has four rabbits named Basil, Indigo, Demon, and Harry, two dogs named Aria and Bentley, and a Cuban false chameleon named Stinky. When not focusing on schoolwork, her favorite activities are sleeping, playing video games, and being a Madison Beer stan.
